Plant Care Instructions

-
- Location and Sunlight: Plant your blueberry in well-draining, acidic soil with a pH level between 4.5 and 5.5. Ensure the location receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during fruit development. Avoid waterlogging; mulching aids in moisture retention.
- Pruning: Perform annual pruning to remove dead or diseased branches. Also, thin out overcrowded growth for better air circulation.
- Fertilization: Use acidic fertilizers suited for blueberries during the growing season to maintain soil ph.
- Mulching: Apply mulch around the base to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and insulate roots from temperature fluctuations.
- Pest and Disease Control: Monitor for pests like aphids, mites, or fungal diseases. Use organic pest control methods as needed.
- Harvesting: Harvest blueberries when fully ripe, firm, and fully colored. Gently pick the berries to avoid damaging the plant.
- Winter Protection: In winter, apply additional mulch around the base to protect roots from freezing temperatures.
Adapting care to the specific blueberry variety and local climate conditions is advisable for optimal growth and fruit production. For more information consult with our gardening experts through a personal video consultation available at this website only.
